Day 10 – Obedient

Psalms 40:8 (TPT)
8 I delight to fulfill your will, my God, for your living words are written upon the pages of my heart.”

John 14:15 (TLB)
15 (15-16) “If you love me, obey me; and I will ask the Father and he will give you another Comforter, and he will never leave you.

Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV)
19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;

      Resistance, disobedience, and rebellion are enabled and increased the further the distance from the source of direction. It was when it was thought that God wasn’t present that eating of the tree was even feasible. I remember as a child, there were many times that my behavior was not in line with my Dad’s will, but those times were not when he was close by and we were interacting. Traffic that is flowing at a speed far above that of the stated speed limit is dramatically affected by the appearance of a Police vehicle at the side of the road. For some reason a little distance opens the door to diversion from known directives. How much more safe, productive, and relationship enhancing it is, however, when that door is closed by simply embracing the will of someone by drawing near to them and honoring their will in their presence.

     There is a very wonderful and precious benefit in removing all diversions from awareness of God’s presence. Those things that are already known that require our adjusted behavior are no longer just options for our consideration. The more you draw near to His heart, His will becomes an imperative of your own heart, driving every action to please His honored presence. In the comfort of His presence, an atmosphere is formed by adhering to His will that disabled dangerous ventures, and activates the blessings that only come from Him. Rather than being expelled from the garden of His provision, there is a wonderful residence in a Secret Place where the threats of enemies are quenched and His goodness is consumed in abundance.
     During this time of resting in His presence, there is a wonderful opportunity for our love of the Father to dramatically impact the alignment of our hearts to His will. It is in the heart condition of obedience that we will be found by Him as the hearts through which He will show Himself strong. There are blessings beyond measure and an iron dome around those who have allowed His promise of nearness to close the door on anything other than adherence to His will.
